Apple’s Patience Pays Off as Competitors Stumble

Apple’s reputation for taking its time with new technology has proven advantageous, as recent failures from some of its biggest competitors have shown. The tech giant is rarely the first to enter a product category but often sets a new standard when it does.

A case in point is Amazon’s Wall-E-like wheeled robots for business. Launched only seven months ago, Amazon has now pulled the product from the market and is offering full refunds to customers. In contrast, Apple is reportedly working on its own robotics products, but in classic Apple fashion, we won’t hear about them until they’re ready for prime time.

Microsoft’s recent misstep with its Copilot Plus PC launch is another example. The company heavily marketed its new computers’ AI capabilities, but the AI feature, Recall, was dubbed a security disaster. It was changed from an opt-out feature to an opt-in, and its public launch has been indefinitely delayed.

These incidents highlight the advantage of Apple’s methodical approach. While critics argue that Apple is “behind” in AI, the company has been quietly working on its Apple Intelligence presentation for WWDC. Its AI offerings, set to arrive this fall, are expected to make AI mainstream without producing embarrassing AI fails.
