Elon Musk has expressed concern over the declining global birth rates. In a recent conversation with the Cato Institute, Musk emphasized the existential risk posed by low birth rates, which he believes is an underrated issue. He stated that without humans, there is no humanity, and hence, the birth rate must be addressed to prevent the dwindling of the human race.
Musk also criticized the extreme form of the environmentalist movement, which he believes views humans as a plague on Earth. He argued against the idea that Earth would be better off without humans, referring to this as the Extinctionist movement. Instead, Musk advocates for an Expansionist philosophy for civilization and consciousness, emphasizing the need to increase the number of humans.
Despite the legitimate concerns over dropping birth rates in many countries, there is disagreement over the severity of the problem and the solutions to it. Musk’s final message was a call to action: “go forth and procreate.”
