iOS 18 Introduced With AI Capabilities at WWDC

Apple has unveiled iOS 18, the upcoming operating system update for iPhone, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This update introduces a significant redesign to the Home Screen, allowing users to arrange apps as they wish, add specific colors for apps, and even include a dark mode.

The Control Center is now more accessible with additional options. Users can resize and reorganize widgets, and even choose a Control Center widget for the Action Button. Apple has also introduced the ability to lock apps with Face ID, including searches and notifications. A new hidden App Library folder allows users to store certain apps and lock them behind Face ID.

For Messages on iOS 18, Apple has introduced several new features. Tapbacks have been remade, allowing users to react with any emoji or sticker. Users can now schedule messages to send later and add text effects to their messages. Apple has also announced that RCS Messaging Support will be coming later this year.

Apple has also focused on a major change for Mail in iOS 18 with on-device categorization, which offers different categories to sort your mail. This feature will be available later this year.

Other new features include turn-by-turn voice guidance for Apple Maps, a quick and private way to share Apple Cash by holding two phones together, and a new Game Mode to enhance the gaming experience. For Photos, Apple is introducing its biggest redesign ever with a new Collections mode, a new Carrousel feature, and the ability to filter out screenshots.

In addition to these features, Apple is also debuting a suite of AI tools built into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15. These tools, collectively referred to as “Apple Intelligence,” are expected to bring exciting developments to the devices.
