Asus ROG Ally X Launched At Computex 2024

Asus has unveiled the ROG Ally X retaining the same Z1 Extreme processor as its predecessor. Despite that, the ROG Ally X boasts significant upgrades.

The ROG Ally X features a new chassis and improved battery life. The device now supports full 2280 SSDs, providing more options at a lower cost compared to the smaller 2230 SSDs. The RAM has been boosted to 24GB DDR5, and the battery size has been doubled to 80mAh. Asus has also improved the thermals, allowing for better performance from the Z1 Extreme processor.

The device comes with refined controls, including durable joysticks, a new macro button, and a Thunderbolt-compatible USB Type-C port for external GPU support. These enhancements, coupled with the device’s improved thermals, allow for an increased TDP, boosting performance mode to 17W and silent mode to 13W.

The ROG Ally X is not just about hardware upgrades. It also offers a more fluid gaming experience, thanks to its larger heat pipes and quieter fans.
