Opera is integrating Google’s Gemini AI models into its built-in AI assistant, Aria. Opera’s Composer AI engine will process the user’s intent based on their inquiry and decide which model to use for each particular task. This intelligent feature will make the browsing experience more personalized and efficient. Google’s Gemini AI, touted as the most capable model ever built by the tech giant, has been integrated into various products and even built into Android as an AI chatbot.
In addition to the Gemini AI integration, Opera is also testing new experimental features as part of its AI Feature Drop program. Users who have the Opera One Developer version of the browser can try a new image generation feature powered by Google’s Imagen 2 model. This feature allows users to generate images based on their requests. For instance, a user can ask Aria to generate an image of a dog on vacation at a beach having a drink.
Another exciting feature being tested is Google’s text-to-audio model, which enables Aria to read out responses in a conversational tone. This feature will make the browsing experience more interactive and engaging.
If the testing phase goes well, Opera plans to roll out these features to all users. However, the features may undergo some changes based on the feedback from early adopters.
