Qualcomm and Microsoft have joined forces to launch the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows, a compact PC designed specifically for developers. This mini PC is powered by the Snapdragon X Elite processor and is aimed at accelerating the development of next-generation AI applications for PCs.
The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows is a compact-form-factor PC that allows developers to create, debug, and test apps and experiences for the many upcoming laptops based on the Snapdragon X Series. It features a special, accelerated Developer Edition of the Snapdragon X Elite processor, along with an array of ports and a form factor designed to be compatible with developers’ multi-monitor systems.
The Dev Kit is equipped with a slightly faster-than-normal version of the Snapdragon X Elite that can boost up to 4.3 GHz, 32GB of RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. It also includes the same NPU as all the Copilot+ devices announced recently. Qualcomm says the NPU is capable of 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS), a bit above the 40 TOPS that Microsoft has defined as the floor for Copilot+ PCs.
The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows is available today for pre-order, with retail availability on June 18. It will cost $899.
