Despite New Keyless Tech, Teslas Remain Vulnerable to Cheap Radio Hack

Despite the introduction of new keyless technology, Tesla vehicles remain susceptible to theft through cheap radio hacks. The ultra-wideband radio, hailed as a solution for “relay attacks” used to steal cars in seconds, has been found to be ineffective in preventing theft of Teslas equipped with it.

Tesla owners are advised to enable PIN-to-drive protection to thwart these relay attacks.
