New iPad Pro Holds Well in Extreme Bend Test

The new iPad Pro has undergone extreme bend tests, and the results are impressive. The device holds up well to extreme force and seems quite resistant to bending during normal use. In a comparison between the M2 iPad Pro and the new M4 iPad Pro, the M4 iPad Pro came away almost unscathed, while the M2 iPad Pro had a definitive curl in the corner near the cameras.

The device showed “black magic levels of structural integrity” when bent horizontally. However, it caved to the pressure much more easily with a vertical bend, probably due to the force going against the axis of the new reinforcing internal structure and the weakness of the charge port openings at the bottom.

The central spine of the new iPad Pro provides enough structure for horizontal bends and should stand up to everyday use in a backpack or luggage. The new iPad Pro is just as tough, if not a little bit tougher than the one it replaces, despite being 18-20% thinner than the M2 iPad Pro.
