Instacart has announced a partnership with Uber Eats to offer restaurant deliveries. This collaboration will allow Instacart customers to order from hundreds of thousands of restaurants via the Instacart app, powered by Uber Eats.
Instacart, a San Francisco-based grocery delivery company, revealed that a new “Restaurants” tab will appear in its app in the coming weeks. This feature will provide a user-friendly interface for customers to choose from a selection of nearby restaurants, browse menus, place orders, and track deliveries in real time.
The partnership is a win-win for both companies. For Uber, it’s an opportunity to drive more orders to its restaurant partners and extend its leading restaurant selection to millions of customers across the U.S., including families in suburban markets that use Instacart. For Instacart, it’s a chance to offer its customers more benefits in the competitive grocery delivery market.
Instacart Plus members, who pay $99 per year or $9.99 per month for free grocery deliveries over $35, will also get free restaurant delivery for orders over $35. Regular Instacart members will be charged Uber Eats delivery fees.
