Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 Ultra earlier than usual in 2024 to counter the slowdown in its smartphone sales. Despite the dominance of iPhones, which took the top four spots in smartphone sales, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s performance is noteworthy. For comparison, the Galaxy A13 was the highest-selling Android phone during the same quarter in 2023, with the S23 Ultra ranking sixth with a 1.3% share.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s success can be attributed to its early launch, Galaxy AI features, and Samsung’s marketing prowess. The phone’s wide availability also played a significant role in its success. Thanks to the strong demand for the Galaxy S24, Samsung made $51 billion in Q1.
