Apple has officially unveiled the all-new iPad Air 6, now available in two sizes for the first time: 11-inch and 13-inch. The redesigned iPad Air features the M2 chip, an upgrade over the M1 chip, promising enhanced performance. The front-facing camera has been relocated to the landscape edge, similar to the iPad 10.
The iPad Air 6 also boasts stereo speakers in landscape orientation, with the 13-inch model offering stronger bass. Apple is highlighting the AI expertise of the M2 chip, pointing to existing machine-learning features. The device also supports faster Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi 6E.
The iPad Air 6 introduces the Apple Pencil hover feature, first seen with the 2022 iPad Pro line. The new color lineup includes blue, purple, starlight, and space gray. Both models start at 128GB, double the previous storage, with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options also available.
Orders for the iPad Air 6 are open today, with shipping starting next week. The 11-inch model starts at $599, while the 13-inch model is priced from $799.
