Financial Times and OpenAI Form Strategic Partnership to License Content and Develop AI Tools

OpenAI has signed a licensing agreement with the Financial Times (FT). The deal will allow OpenAI to use FT’s content to train its AI models, enhancing the capabilities of its ChatGPT chatbot. The chatbot will be able to answer queries and generate summaries linked to the newspaper. The partnership also aims to develop new AI products and features tailored for FT readers. The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. This is not the first media-linked deal for OpenAI, which has previously signed similar agreements with the Associated Press, Axel Springer, Le Monde, and Prisa Media.
