WhatsApp Rolls Out Secure Passwordless ‘Passkey’ Logins Globally on iOS

WhatsApp has globally rolled out support for passkeys on iOS. This new login method is more secure than traditional passwords. Passkeys use biometric authentication like Face ID or Touch ID, a PIN, or a physical security authentication key to validate logins. This process combines the benefits of two-factor authentication into a single step, making logins more seamless while maintaining increased security. The addition of passkeys could help WhatsApp users protect their accounts against hacks from bad actors. There’s no word yet on when Android users will have the option.
