Nvidia Acquires AI Workload Management Startup Run:ai for $700 Million

Nvidia has acquired Run:ai, a Tel Aviv-based startup that simplifies the management and optimization of AI hardware infrastructure. The deal, worth $700 million, will see Nvidia continue to offer Run:ai’s products under the same business model and invest in its product roadmap as part of Nvidia’s DGX Cloud AI platform. Run:ai’s platform can fragment AI models to run in parallel across hardware, whether on-premises, in public clouds, or at the edge. The acquisition is one of Nvidia’s largest since its purchase of Mellanox for $6.9 billion in March 2019.
