Meta’s Twitter Rival Threads Hits 150 Million Monthly Users

Threads, Meta’s rival to Twitter, has reached 150 million monthly active users, a significant increase from the previous quarter. This was announced by Mark Zuckerberg during the company’s Q1 2024 earnings call. The social network has been steadily growing since its launch nine months ago, with steps towards integrating with ActivityPub, a decentralized protocol. Despite the lack of native DM functionality, Threads released a test feature to let users delete posts after a defined time. They can also archive or unarchive individual posts and make them public.
