Oracle Corp. is relocating its world headquarters to Nashville to be closer to a major health care hub, reflecting the software giant’s ambitions in the industry. Oracle is developing a health campus in the city that will ultimately be its world headquarters. The move is seen as a strategic decision to be at the center of the next generation of health care. Oracle has pledged to create 8,500 jobs by 2031 in the region as part of a $1.35 billion office development in Nashville. The company had more than 700 workers in the city at the end of 2023. Oracle paid $277 million for 70 acres of land on the East Bank of the Cumberland river for the development. The city granted Oracle $175 million in economic incentives for the development in 2021. The campus is being designed by Norman Foster, a world-renowned architect known for Apple Inc.’s headquarters in Cupertino.
