Nothing has launched two new sets of wireless earbuds: the Nothing Ear ($149) and Nothing Ear (a) ($99). These earbuds stand out for their integration with ChatGPT, one of the most popular AI services globally, offering users a seamless and hands-free experience.
The Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) both offer noise cancellation and high-resolution audio. They are tightly integrated with Nothing’s phones and provide pinch-to-speak access to ChatGPT. This feature is a direct challenge to the three major voice assistants dominating smartphones: Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa.
The integration of ChatGPT allows users to perform more sophisticated tasks and engage in turn-based conversations, a feature that current voice assistants lack. If Nothing’s implementation of ChatGPT on its phones and wireless earbuds proves successful, it could usher in a new era of convenience.
Both models were available for preorder starting April 18 and will be generally available on April 22. Apart from the ChatGPT integration, which requires a smartphone running Nothing OS, the Nothing Ear and Ear (a) appear to be fairly straightforward generational improvements on the company’s previous wireless earbuds.
