Greg Isenberg, a former WeWork executive, predicts a billion-dollar industry emerging from AI girlfriends. This prediction came after he met a young man who claimed to spend $10,000 a month on relationship-simulating chatbots, also known as “AI girlfriends”. Isenberg believes that this market could be capitalized upon, similar to how Match Group has done with dating apps.
The young man Isenberg met enjoys interacting with his AI girlfriends as if they were video games, sending them voice notes and customizing their likes and dislikes. He particularly enjoys using Candy.ai and Cupid.ai, which allow for NSFW chatting that other apps ban.
