Electronic Arts (EA) has announced a price increase for its game subscription service, EA Play. The new pricing structure is set to go into effect next month. The standard tier for EA Play will increase from $4.99 to $5.99 per month, and for those who prefer to pay for a year in advance, the price will increase from $29.99 to $39.99.
The Pro tier of EA Play will also see a price increase. The monthly fee will rise from $14.99 to $16.99, and the annual fee will increase from $99.99 to $119.99. This price increase is already live for new members.
EA Play is a subscription service that gives players access to a select number of games from the company, along with additional incentives like discounts and DLC. It’s available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, and PC.
This price hike is part of EA’s decision to bring fees in line with market value. However, pre-existing subscribers won’t see the new prices until May 10. This move follows recent trends in the gaming industry, with Sony raising the price of PS Plus last year and Microsoft increasing the cost of Game Pass subscriptions.
