Apple TV+ Grows in US Market Share, Still Trails Competitors

Apple TV+ has seen growth in the US market share, but it still lags behind its main competitors. According to JustWatch’s market share figures for Q1 2024, Apple TV+ grew by 1% compared to the previous period, now holding 8% of the market share. This ties it with Paramount+, which also holds an 8% share.

However, Apple TV+ still has a long way to go before catching up with its competitors such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, which hold the first and second places with 22% and 21% market shares, respectively. HBO Max is the third most popular streaming platform in the US, with a 14% market share.

Despite having the smallest catalog among all streaming platforms, a recent study revealed that Apple TV+ is the platform with the highest-rated content on IMDb. Even though Apple TV+ was launched in 2019 with a small catalog of original movies and shows, its content has already won multiple important awards.
