Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has announced plans to upgrade its voice assistant, Bixby, with generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Bixby, which launched in 2017 with Samsung’s Galaxy S8 smartphone, is present across the company’s devices, from smartphones and smartwatches to appliances.
The generative AI technology will allow Bixby to have more natural conversations and support Samsung products in their ecosystem. This technology will enable Bixby to generate responses in the form of text, pictures, and even videos based on user prompts. Currently, Bixby does not have the capabilities of advanced chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
