Qualcomm has been quietly demonstrating the capabilities of its Snapdragon X Elite on popular games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Control. The demonstrations were conducted on Snapdragon X Elite laptops and were shown to influencers, according to videos from YouTubers, TikTokers, and “Snapdragon Insiders.”
The Snapdragon X Elite is Qualcomm’s fastest Arm chip ever, featuring 12 Oryon cores developed by Nuvia. It is fabricated on TSMC’s 4nm node and can boost to 4.3 GHz on two cores, with the other cores being limited to 3.8 GHz. Despite its specifications, the chip has shown impressive performance, even surpassing AMD’s top-end mobile APU, the Ryzen 9 7940HS, in both single- and multi-core scores in a leaked Geekbench 6 result.
These demonstrations and benchmark results highlight the potential of the chip in gaming applications, indicating that it could be a strong competitor in the laptop and possibly even desktop PC market.
