Windows Notepad Introduces Spell Check After 41 Years

Windows Notepad, a staple text editor of the Microsoft suite, has finally introduced a spell-check feature. This addition comes 41 years after the program’s inception and is now live in the latest Windows 11 Insider build. The spell check feature works in a familiar way, highlighting typos and incorrectly spelled words with a red squiggly line and offering alternatives with a left click or by going through all the detected mistakes with Shift + F10. Users can enable and disable spell check for different types of files. The updated version of Notepad is currently being tested and is expected to be available to all Windows 11 builds by the end of the year.
