Canada has revised its stance on the ban of Flipper Zero, a device initially blamed for fueling car thefts. The Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) department clarified that the aim is not to fully ban the device, but to restrict its use to legitimate actors only. This means the importation, possession, sale, and use by illegitimate actors will not be permitted. The department is working with Canadian companies, online retailers, and the automotive industry to address this issue and will announce specific plans soon. The makers of Flipper Zero have launched a petition urging the country to drop the ban.
