Streaming services are pushing American consumers to their limits with continuous price hikes

A report from Deloitte reveals that U.S. households now spend an average of $61 a month on streaming, a 27% increase from the previous year. The rise in costs is attributed to price hikes by major platforms like Netflix and Max, crackdowns on password sharing, and the introduction of ads into basic plans. The report also indicates that consumers are growing frustrated with the increasing number of streaming services and their various pricing strategies. As a result, about 75% of Gen Z and millennials expressed a desire for a unified platform to search for content across all their subscribed services. Despite the rising costs, streaming services are still seen as a viable alternative to cable packages, which cost between $50 and $85 a month for over 100 channels.
