Epic Games has confirmed that it will charge a 12% fee for app sales on its upcoming iPhone store, matching the fee it charges on Windows and Mac. For the first six months, apps will retain 100% of their revenue, and apps offering in-game purchases using their own payment processing method will not be charged any fees. However, a game sold through the Epic Games Store will need to pay both Epic’s 12% fee and Apple’s 0.50 euro Core Technology Fee for each “first annual” install after one million installs. Despite the ongoing legal battle with Apple, It is moving forward with its plans and aims to launch the store in the European Union by the end of 2024.
