Nvidia has announced Project GR00T, a new AI technology aimed at developing humanoid robots. The project involves a foundation model trained on vast amounts of data, enabling it to perform a wide range of tasks. The technology will help humanoid robots understand natural language and mimic human actions, thereby enhancing their coordination and dexterity. Alongside Project GR00T, Nvidia also introduced the Isaac Manipulator and Isaac Perceptor as part of its Isaac robotics platform. These are designed for robotic arms and robots in manufacturing roles, respectively. Nvidia also unveiled the Jetson Thor computer for humanoid robots, powered by Nvidia’s Thor system-on-a-chip. The company is collaborating with major robotics firms, including Boston Dynamics and Figure AI.
