Nvidia is expanding its collaborations with BYD and other Chinese automakers to build self-driving vehicles and AI-augmented infotainment technology. BYD, the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, will use Nvidia’s next-generation in-vehicle chips, Drive Thor, for autonomous driving and other digital functions. Nvidia’s technology will also be used by BYD to streamline factories, supply chains, and develop virtual showrooms. Other Chinese automakers, including Xpeng, GAC Aion’s Hyper brand, Zeekr, and Li Auto, have also announced collaborations with Nvidia. These automakers are using advanced technology to gain global recognition and expand sales outside China. Nvidia also announced partnerships with U.S. software company Cerence and Chinese computer maker Lenovo for in-car computing and large language model deployment, respectively.
