Google has allegedly interfered in US elections by favoring Democratic candidates

The Media Research Center (MRC), a right-leaning media watchdog, has published a report alleging that Google interfered in US elections 41 times since 2008. The report accuses Google of favoring liberal candidates and censoring their opponents. It cites instances where Google allegedly suppressed pro-Clinton search results in 2008 and smeared GOP primary candidate Rick Santorum in 2012. The report also claims that Google’s search algorithm shifted at least 2.5 million votes to Clinton in 2016. However, these claims have been disputed due to flaws in the methodology used. Google has denied the allegations.
