Xiaomi has introduced HyperOS, a revamped custom Android overlay set to replace MIUI. Despite the radical name change, HyperOS retains much of MIUI’s aesthetics. The new OS promises a 50-month performance degradation-free experience and is more lightweight than MIUI 14. It also offers under-the-hood optimizations for hardware resource handling and scheduling, resulting in lower latency and faster task switching. HyperOS supports advanced rendering for a more realistic visual experience and introduces new status notifications. However, its Pro HDR function is currently limited to the stock gallery. The design philosophy of HyperOS revolves around dynamic and cheerful color palettes found in nature.
