Craig Wright Not Bitcoin Inventor, Judge Rules

A High Court judge has ruled that Australian computer scientist Craig Wright is not the inventor of Bitcoin, contradicting Wright’s claims since 2016. The ruling was made immediately after a five-week trial, with the judge stating the evidence against Wright was “overwhelming”. The case was brought by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), which includes Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s payments firm, Block. COPA accused Wright of dishonesty and forgery, creating a chilling effect on cryptocurrency development due to his aggressive legal cases. The judge agreed with COPA, stating Wright did not create the Bitcoin system.
