Intel Dominates CPU Market with 78% Share, Outpacing AMD and Apple

According to a recent report by Canalys, Intel continues to lead the global CPU market, holding a 78% share in 2023, significantly ahead of its competitors AMD and Apple. Despite facing financial challenges in the previous years, Intel managed a modest 3% annual growth, shipping 50 million CPUs worldwide. AMD, trailing behind, secured a 13% market share with 8 million units, while Apple, along with other players like Qualcomm, Arm, and MediaTek, collectively accounted for the remaining 9%. The report also sheds light on the significant roles of Dell, HP, and Lenovo in the PC market, with these companies being major contributors to Intel’s CPU shipments. Lenovo, in particular, stands out not only for its substantial share in AMD and Intel’s sales but also for contributing to 41% of MediaTek’s earnings, highlighting its pivotal position in the PC industry.
