Social media platform Bluesky has introduced Ozone, an open-source moderation tool that allows users to customize their content feed. Ozone enables individuals and teams to create independent moderation services that can be integrated with the Bluesky app, offering users the option to install various filters for a personalized experience. This initiative is part of Bluesky’s “stackable approach” to moderation, which includes built-in services and community guidelines. Users can now tailor their feeds to exclude specific content, such as spiders with a “Spider Shield” filter. The tool is currently available on the desktop version and will soon be available on mobile. Ozone’s open-source release aims to give users control over their social media experience.
