Airbnb Bans Indoor Security Cameras

Airbnb has announced a ban on indoor security cameras across all listings. The new policy, which comes into effect on April 30, aims to remove ambiguity and confusion about interior surveillance for both renters and hosts. Previously, hosts could place cameras in common areas if they were disclosed on the listing page. Now, any indoor camera spotted during an Airbnb stay will be considered a breach of policy. The company is also tightening guidelines on outdoor cameras and noise decibel monitors, which will still be permitted but must be disclosed in listings. The majority of Airbnb listings do not report having an indoor security camera, so this update is expected to impact a smaller subset of listings.
