AMD needs to fix path tracing with its next-gen GPUs

AMD’s current-gen graphics cards have been a revelation, achieving performance parity with Nvidia while improving ray tracing capabilities. However, the next frontier of gaming, path tracing, is rapidly approaching, and AMD’s current options aren’t up to the task. Path tracing, a lighting technique that can elevate gaming visuals, is only available in a few titles now, but it’s expected to become more widespread soon. Nvidia currently dominates this area with better ray tracing and smart deployment of DLSS 3.5. For AMD’s next generation of graphics cards, path tracing needs to be a critical focus, which will come with better overall ray tracing performance and robust FSR 3 support.
