Bitcoin breaks $70,000 in volatile trading, hitting a new record to end the week

Bitcoin has reached a new record, breaking through the $70,000 mark for the first time. The cryptocurrency was last trading at $67,920.32, after reaching as high as $70,170.00. This sharp move coincided with the opening of the U.S. stock market. The introduction of spot bitcoin exchange traded funds in the U.S. has led to increased activity in crypto markets during traditional stock trading hours. However, trading has been especially volatile this week, with it’s value plunging 10% shortly after reaching its new record. Despite this, experts predict that volatility will continue to define bitcoin bull markets in 2024.
