Apple has rolled out the iOS 17.4, alternative app stores now available in Europe

Apple has rolled out the iOS 17.4 update, which allows users in the European Union to download and use alternative app stores on their iPhones and iPads. This change is in compliance with the EU’s Digital Markets Act. Users can also set these third-party app stores as the default on their devices. The update introduces alternative payment systems, third-party browser engine support, and NFC access for banks and payment providers other than Apple. However, these features are only available in Europe, while Apple’s stance remains unchanged in the rest of the world.
