Lifetime warranties often promise a “lifetime” of protection, but the actual duration can be much less. The term “lifetime” can refer to the lifetime of the customer or the product. For instance, Craftsman offers a true lifetime warranty, replacing any hand tool for any reason, at any time. However, most “lifetime” warranties are limited and do not cover “wear and tear”.
