Google CEO says Gemini AI diversity errors are ‘completely unacceptable’

Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, has addressed the controversy surrounding the company’s Gemini AI in an internal memo. The AI had generated historically inaccurate images and text that were biased and offensive to users. Pichai described these errors as “completely unacceptable”. Google had previously paused Gemini’s ability to generate images after it was discovered that the model was producing racially diverse, Nazi-era content. The company is now working to rectify these issues.
