Google announced a new set of features for phones, cars, and wearables at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. These includes
- Android Auto: It can now automatically summarize long texts or busy group chats while users focus on driving. It also suggests relevant replies and actions.
- Lookout: An app for the blind and low-vision communities that generates AI-powered captions for images that have missing or inaccurate captions or alt text.
- Lens in Maps: Improved screen reader support allows users to explore and identify places like ATMs, restaurants, and transit stations.
- Google Docs: Users can now add handwritten annotations from their Android phone or tablet.
- Wear OS: Google Wallet passes are now available on Wear OS watches, allowing access to boarding passes, event tickets, gym memberships, loyalty cards, and more from your wrist.
- Spotify: Support for Spotify through an output switcher on the Android home screen has been launched.
- Fitbit app: The app has been updated with support to get data from different sources like AllTrails, Oura Ring, and MyFitnessPal. The app was redesigned with a new three-tabbed layout last year.
These features aim to enhance accessibility and productivity for users.
