AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE review: $549 competition for Nvidia

AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 GRE, also known as “Golden Rabbit Edition”, is a pared-down version of the 7900 XT.
It was designed to be exclusive to the Chinese market, but is available in some regions only in full system builds.
The 7900 GRE has 80 Compute Units, 5,120 Stream Processors, and 16GB of GDDR6 memory.
Despite having a $650 MSRP, it’s not available for that price in the US.
Performance-wise, it’s similar to the Radeon RX 6800 XT.
The 7900 GRE is a sensible purchase in a pre-built system or as a DIY product in China.
However, its performance raises the question of whether it should even be part of the 7900 series.
