Ring stops selling its Ring Car Cam dash cam

Ring has confirmed that it has stopped selling the Car Cam.
The Car Cam was a security camera for cars, announced in 2020, and connected to Ring’s wider home security ecosystem.
It featured two cameras, one for the interior and one for the front window, and was designed to capture footage from traffic stops.
The device was powered from the car’s battery, connected via the OBD-II port, and used WiFi for communication.
It also offered the option to activate end-to-end encryption and had a privacy shutter to block the internal camera and microphone.
The Car Cam retailed for $250, but early pre-order customers could get theirs for $200.
The discontinuation of the Car Cam has been confirmed by Ring.
