Hacker group's site taken over by law enforcement

An online site run by the major criminal gang LockBit, which organizes ransomware cyber attacks, has been taken over by law enforcement. The site sold services that compromised computer networks and held their data until a ransom was paid. The operation was conducted by Britain’s National Crime Agency, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, Europol, and a coalition of international police agencies. LockBit’s software was the most deployed ransomware variant across the world in 2022, and it continues to be prolific in 20231.
