Another incident involved a makeup artist receiving a poor evaluation based on her body language, despite being highly skilled. These tools are trained on prior data that can already be flawed and biased. For instance, an AI trained on the resumes of men employed at a company ruled out women candidates who didn’t play baseball or basketball. The use of these tools could potentially harm hundreds of thousands of applicants.
