How to set up Google Maps Bluetooth tunnel beacons

Google Maps has introduced a feature called “Bluetooth Tunnel Beacons” to improve navigation accuracy in tunnels.
The feature uses Bluetooth beacons placed at tunnel entrances. Your phone connects to these beacons when entering a tunnel, acting as a relay between your device and the navigation satellites.
To enable this feature on your Android device, open Google Maps, click your profile image, select Settings, scroll down to Navigation settings, and toggle on the Bluetooth tunnel beacons setting.
Not all tunnels have these beacons installed, so there may be times when Maps loses connection while you’re in a tunnel.
The feature was first introduced by Waze in 2016 and is now available in cities like New York City, Chicago, Boston, Paris, Rio, Brussels, Oslo, Sydney, and Mexico City.
The feature is currently only available for Android devices and requires the latest version of the Google Maps app.
