Microsoft is discontinuing support for Publisher, one of its oldest apps, on October 13th, 2026. The app is not considered popular and its discontinuation may not significantly impact users. In the lead-up to the date, Microsoft will explore ways to integrate components from Publisher into more popular Office apps, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Designer. This will allow users to continue accessing Publisher’s functionality without adding unnecessary bloat to Office 365. The productivity scene has changed significantly since Microsoft released Office suites in the late 20th century, leading to the phasing out of apps like Publisher.
