Amazon's Audible unit lays off about 5% of staff

  • Amazon-owned Audible is laying off approximately 5% of its staff.
  • Audible CEO Bob Carrigan said the move was being made in an effort to position the unit “for continued success,” according to a memo viewed by CNBC.
  • The cuts follow layoffs at Amazon’s Twitch, Prime Video and MGM Studios divisions earlier this week.
